Taking the First Steps

Going for counselling for the first time can feel overwhelming. It’s natural to feel uncertain or even apprehensive about sharing personal experiences or struggles with someone new. But reaching out for support is a courageous step toward understanding yourself better and finding relief from what’s weighing you down.
Sometimes, it helps to talk with someone who isn’t part of your family or social circle - someone who is there solely for you.

Alternatively you may be returning to counselling either to examine new issues or to gain a different perspective and new insights into things that you have brought to counselling before. You may have felt a bit stuck or sometimes there are just life circumstances that need ongoing support. Each therapeutic relationship is unique and I believe that it is important it begins with a feeling of connection. This spark of understanding is the essential foundation on which to build a strong and trusting relationship with your counsellor.

A Safe, Supportive Space Just for You

My role is to provide a safe, confidential, and non-judgmental environment where you can explore your feelings, thoughts, and experiences at your own pace. Together, we’ll create a space where you feel heard and respected and free to express yourself without fear of judgment or pressure. While I’ll guide the session, you will always lead the conversation.

Who I Work With

People come to see me for many reasons, including:

   • Processing trauma or bereavement

   • Managing the effects of past or current experiences

   • Depression, anxiety, low self-esteem.

   • ADHD and Autism

   • Panic attacks

   • Feeling overwhelmed by life or unable to pinpoint why things feel so difficult.

You don’t need to have everything figured out to start counselling or even to know exactly why you feel the need to talk

I offer online counselling sessions via Zoom...for more information see the Online page.

I can also offer telephone counselling if this is preferable.
